The old original roof was leaking. Water was entering through the old coping stones and the owner was spending a lot of money on tuck pointing because of the water entry problem at the top portion of the wall.
The customer liked that the new roof would be Energy Star Rated and keep the roof surface 50 degrees cooler in the summer months. This also added value for the tenant and lowered their cooling costs. In the winter, the roof membrane would perform well against winter ice and melting cycles.
So we removed the coping stones of the original roof and installed a TPO membrane wrap over the building to the outside wall and capped it with a new snap lock sheet metal facade to enhance the loo and secure the material. The owners are thrilled with the results.
